Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has promised to “push back” on President Joe Biden’s plan to require large employers to mandate vaccines or weekly COVID-19 tests for their workers.
Biden is scheduled to make a speech at 2 p.m. Arizona time, where he is expected to announce sweeping new federal vaccine requirements affecting as many as 100 million Americans.
Part of those requirements include vaccine mandates for employers with more than 100 workers. If workers aren’t vaccinated, they will have to get tested weekly for the virus. This is expected to affect about 80 million Americans. The administration also is expected to require roughly 17 million workers at health facilities that receive federal Medicare or Medicaid to get vaccinated, among others.

Gov. Doug Ducey says Arizona will push back on President Biden’s planned announcement of sweeping new federal vaccine requirements that will affect as many as 100 million Americans.
Ducey called the move “exactly the kind of big government overreach we have tried so hard to prevent in Arizona” in a post on Twitter.
“The Biden-Harris administration is hammering down on private businesses and individual freedoms in an unprecedented and dangerous way. This will never stand up in court,” Ducey wrote.
“This dictatorial approach is wrong, un-American and will do far more harm than good. How many workers will be displaced? How many kids kept out of classrooms? How many businesses fined? The vaccine is and should be a choice. We must and will push back.”
