Sky Harbor analysis shows aircraft would fly 460 feet above proposed Coyotes arena

If a proposal to build an entertainment district and arena for the Arizona Coyotes in Tempe moves forward as planned, an initial analysis done by Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport staff shows arriving aircraft could be flying a mere 400 feet above the buildings.

The figure was shared during a presentation to members of the Phoenix Aviation Advisory Board at their regular meeting on Oct. 21.

Jordan Feld, deputy aviation director of planning and environment, made a presentation to the board about what the airport knows about the project so far and how the lone proposal, which would be located on two lots at Priest Drive and Rio Salado Parkway less than 10,000 feet directly east of the runway, might impact airport operations.
