CG plan to preserve neighborhood open space gets pushback from developer

CASA GRANDE — At least one developer is pushing back on the city’s attempt to preserve open space within newly planned subdivisions whose planners want to add more lots into the existing acreage.

Vincent Carter, owner of Mission Ranch II Investments LLC, sent a letter to the Planning and Zoning Commission framing the issue in terms of housing cost.

“The increase in open space will impact affordability for the eventual homeowners,” Carter said. “It will translate to higher costs to the HOA. I submit that while open space may be more appealing to planners, it makes living in Casa Grande more expensive.”
