Plans have been submitted in Scottsdale to replace a shuttered Red Robin restaurant with a new Panera Bread location.

The Red Robin at 8970 East Shea Boulevard closed and there are plans to demolish the location for a new Panera near the Loop 101 freeway.

Development plans call for a new Panera location with a drive-thru. The restaurant will be 3,949 square feet and will include outdoor seating.

The Red Robin building will be demolished, according to plans submitted for the Panera location.
