FLORENCE — The Second Pinal County Courthouse, restored for $7 million to serve a new century, only has about a decade left as a government office building before it’s retired, officials said.
“Within 10 years we’re moving out of this building,” Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McClure, R-Eagle Crest Ranch, said at a Feb. 24 town hall meeting with constituents at the 1891 building.
The heating and air-conditioning systems already struggle to work effectively through the building and won’t be easy to replace efficiently in future years. It’s also not readily adaptable or expandable to a growing county’s needs, Pinal County spokesman James Daniels commented.
