ELOY — After weeks of negotiations and after a quick turnaround working as the assistant to previous City Manager Harvey Krauss, the Eloy City Council voted unanimously to have David Malewitz take over the position.
After Krauss retired in the fall of last year, Malewitz became the acting city manager while city staff continued their search for someone who would take the regular appointment. Ultimately, the council realized that the person they had been looking for was right under their nose.
After Monday’s meeting, Malewitz spoke about what it meant to him to take the job, which is something that has been a dream of his for quite some time.
