Buckeye Mayor Eric Orsborn celebrated a year of accomplishments with his 2022 state of the city video, “Moving Forward.”
The video aired on May 5 and highlighted 5,000 new jobs coming into the city, and the new water supplies that were secured, and welcomed new retail and services.
“The past year has given us all new challenges to face, but it has also provided us with some incredible opportunities and accomplishments,” Orsborn said at the beginning of his address.
“Along with the entire city council, I am proud to help guide Buckeye into a bright future as we move forward into 2022 and begin to see the end of the pandemic. I’m happy to report the city of Buckeye is strong, resilient and thriving.”
Of the 5,000 new jobs, 3,000 came from the new KORE Power project, which breaks ground this summer and is set to open in 2024. In total, the city’s job hike is a 33% increase from 2020.
