Queen Creek Vice Mayor Jeff Brown joined other East Valley mayors and officials from Gulfstream Aerospace in a groundbreaking ceremony.
The May 17 groundbreaking marks the kickoff of the Gulfstream Aerospace Phase 1 Development of its 225,000 square-foot aircraft service facility at the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport in Mesa. The project was first announced in November 2021.
The new facility represents a $70 million investment by Gulfstream. The Mesa service center will offer a broad range of services and add additional capacity for customers in the Western U.S., according to a press release issued when the project was first announced.
Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport is operated by the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority. PMGAA consists of representation from Apache Junction, Mesa, Queen Creek, Gilbert, Gila River Indian Community and Phoenix.
The facility at Gateway Airport will be Gulfstream’s first in Arizona and will feature a sustainable, modern design, in line with Gulfstream’s sustainability goals, the release stated.
