Opinion: A new poll shows Kari Lake slipping and Karrin Taylor Robson now within striking distance. With one month to go until early ballots arrive, Can Kari being Kari win this race? Here’s what to watch for..

With just one month until early ballots hit the mailbox, a new poll shows Republican gubernatorial frontrunner Kari Lake’s level is dropping faster than Lake Powell.
OK, so not really that fast. But Lake has slipped in the polls over the last two months and her better-funded opponent Karrin Taylor Robson is now within striking distance.
The new Data Orbital poll shows Lake with 27.4% of likely Republican voters, down from 35.2% in April. Robson, meanwhile, is at 23.2%, up from 21.5%. Lake has led the race for a year but Robson is now within the margin of error in catching her.
It pays to have good timing, a yacht-load of money and a message that doesn’t turn off a fair number of the voters you will need, if you want to win in November.
