Court Rich, Rose Law Group Co-founder featured in ABC15 report: Denied again: ACC will not reconsider SRP gas plant expansion

(Disclosure: Rose Law Group represents Sierra Club.)

Arizona Corporation Commission once again shot down Salt River Project’s effort to get the commission to approve its $1 billion gas plant that the utility wants to build in Coolidge. Back in April, the ACC voted 4-1 to deny the plant expansion, with the commission citing the negative impact the plant would have on the neighboring community of Randolph as well as deficiencies in the application and other issues. This time around, the vote was 3-2, but the outcome was the same.

Following the commission’s April rejection, Rose Law Group Renewable Energy Dept. Director Court Rich tells RLGR: “SRP proposed spending $1 billion of public funds on a new gas plant without even considering any alternatives. Fortunately, the ACC stepped in and protected the public from what would have been a monumentally expensive and hurried mistake.”
