What: An informative session on Melendres v. Penzone, a historic court order from the Sheriff Joe Arpaio era, hosted by Rose Law Group attorney Brian Cuevas, Chair of the Civil Rights Committee of Los Abogados. The presentation is provided by the court ordered Community Advisory Board (CAB) and will cover traffic stop annual reports, backlog of complaint investigations, and community engagements, followed by a Q&A.
Purpose: To facilitate regular dialogue between the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and the community, and to provide specific recommendations to MCSO about policies and practices that will increase community trust and ensure that the provisions of this order and other orders entered by the Court in this matter are met.
