Sports mogul Jerry Colangelo back at Douglas Ranch, a massive West Valley planned community

Jerry Colangelo is back at Douglas Ranch.

After his Phoenix-based JDM Partners and Scottsdale-based El Dorado Holdings Inc. sold the 37,000 acres in Buckeye to Howard Hughes Corp. (NYSE: HHC) for $600 million last October, Colangelo had an option to get back into the deal.

And he did.

JDM Partners paid $50 million for a 9% share in a partnership with Howard Hughes Corp., according to Tempe-based Vizzda real estate database.
