The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) Regional Council recently appointed Queen Creek Council Members Dawn Oliphant and Julia Wheatley to key committee assignments.
According to a town release, Wheatley was appointed to the Transportation Policy Committee. The committee is a collaboration of elected officials, the business community, Arizona Department of Transportation, Maricopa County and the Native Nations who are responsible for the implementation of Proposition 400, a voter-approved ballot measure for purposes of funding transportation projects.
Additionally, the committee is tasked with the planning and development of the next long-term regional transportation plan, known as Momentum.
