FLORENCE — A new housing development near Maricopa, a new active-adult community in San Tan Valley and a concrete recycling plant near Apache Junction were approved Wednesday by the Pinal County Board of Supervisors.
The board granted rezoning and other approvals on 635.5 acres along the northwest intersection of Papago and Green roads near Maricopa for a community known as Amarillo Creek. The area was approved for 600 homes almost 20 years ago, but has now been enlarged for a total of 2,284.
The development includes two school sites. There will be one access point along Green Road, two along Papago Road and one along Amarillo Valley Road.
