Chandler looks to reposition, redevelop public housing

Chandler is pursuing a new affordable housing development on city-owned land south of McQueen Road and Chandler Boulevard.

Last week the Chandler City Council approved a resolution authorizing its Housing and Redevelopment Division, which serves as administrator for the Chandler Public Housing Authority, to pursue the new development.

Most of Chandler’s current public housing facilities were built during the early 1970s and need significant investment and repair, according to the city. Chandler’s current public multifamily housing stock includes four family multifamily sites, one senior multifamily site and 103 scattered single-family sites, according to the city.
