Two 15-story apartment towers could become Glendale’s tallest building outside of State Farm Stadium.
The apartments are planned near 95th and Missouri avenues, just south of the NFL stadium and VAI Resort, which is going up along Loop 101.
The towers are part of a 34-acre project called Urban 95, which also will include mid- and low-rise apartments.
The city’s next tallest building also is in the sports and entertainment district, the 11-story Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel & Spa.
Urban 95 could bring 1,500 apartments
The project, which could have as many as 1,500 apartment units, recently was approved by the City Council.
The area needs more apartments as it has grown, Ed Bailey, the owner of the site, said.
He has owned the land for about 13 years and has been involved in the city’s sports and entertainment district for decades.
