The Phoenix Police department is investigating after the campaign headquarters for Democratic candidate for Governor Katie Hobbs was burglarized Monday night.

Officers were called to the office near Virginia and Central Avenues Tuesday afternoon and learned that items were taken from the property “sometime during the night,” according to Phoenix Police spokesman Sgt. Phil Krynsky.

No suspects have been identified at this time and detectives are checking security cameras in an attempt to identify and locate the person or persons involved in the burglary.

Hobbs, who was elected secretary of state in 2018, has been the subject of threats and intimidation recently, with many people emboldened by false claims surrounding the election. Hobbs, State Elections Director Kori Lorick and an unnamed employee at the Secretary of State’s Office received a death threat earlier this month, which was forwarded to the U.S. Department of Justice.
