A statement of direction for an amendment to the intermediate special use permit regarding Scottsdale Plaza Resort is set to be approved by Paradise Valley Town Council at its next meeting Nov. 10.

The council has been requested by Scottsdale-based Rose Law Group, on behalf of Delaware-based hospitality company Highgate, for a SOD on an amendment to the intermediate special use permit for redevelopment of the 36.5-acre Scottsdale Plaza Resort located on the northwest corner of Scottsdale and Indian Bend roads.

Council discussed the draft SOD during its sessions on Oct. 13 and Oct. 27.

The zoning ordinance requires Town Council to issue a SOD within 45 days from the first staff presentation, which was Oct. 13. Additionally, Town Code requires the Planning Commission to forward a recommendation to council by March 24, 2023, based on the expected SOD approval Nov. 10.
