Peoria City Council approved the annexation of about 19.1 acres of the privately owned property known as McCoy Business Park, near 75th and Northern avenues, March 7.

The council also approved the initial zoning and a rezoning of the property that recategorized about 20.6 acres from suburban ranch to light industrial.

Applicant Zachery Pebler, on behalf of Renewal Management Remainder Trust, wants to use the site for a future industrial project. While the Pebler has not identified a specific end user for the property, the rezoning is intended to align the property’s zoning classification for future development and allow uses, or business types, that are compatible with the General Plan, according to a city document.

The site consists of three parcels owned by Renewal Management Remainder Trust that are collectively referred to as the McCoy Business Park. Two of the parcels were previously annexed, while the third parcel was just approved by the council.
