Close but not quite: Eloy awaits final decision on local free trade zone for Rose Law Client Walton International

As of last week, the city’s application for a foreign trade zone (FTZ) that has been dragging on for the better part of a year has hit yet another snag that has put it in a holding pattern for now.

President of Walton International Rob Leinbach spoke with city council during a special meeting June 10 regarding their joint effort in establishing an FTZ in Eloy.

With Walton’s help, the city of Eloy submitted an application for a new foreign trade zone designation in 2011 covering four sites of industrial land within the city limits. The first application was at first denied, and Eloy filed a rebuttal in support of its original application, with supplemental materials.

The application is currently pending before the foreign trade zone board.
