Big development on Casa Grande’s radar

By Jodie Newell | Pinal Central

CASA GRANDE — The Casa Grande Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday will consider an expansion of Dell’s Pizza, a new bowling alley and storage space at Tri-Valley Plaza on Florence Boulevard and a proposed large development near Cottonwood Lane and Interstate 10.

Dell’s began operating in Arizona City in 1964 and moved to Casa Grande in 1967. The owners of Dell’s, on North Pinal Avenue, are requesting that a zone change from General Business to Central Business be granted to accommodate an expansion to the restaurant and restrooms.

Staff is recommending approval and forwarding to the City Council.

A new bowling alley for Casa Grande could come under a proposal from applicant David Kempen and DJK-Casa Grande LLC of Davenport, Iowa.

Kempen is requesting a major amendment to the Tri-Valley planned area development, the shopping center where Fry’s is located on Florence, to “allow warehousing, indoor self-storage and bowling alleys as a conditional use permit.”
