A decade-old group is looking to pump new money into the search for affordable housing and helping to fend off homelessness.
The Home Matters Arizona Fund, formed by Arizona health care leaders and Home Matters to Arizona, was created to increase attainable housing in the state and improve health care outcomes. It’s rolling out $4.25 million in housing funds to new recipients this year.
The Home Matters was launched in 2013 by a group of housing professionals who identified a gap in public discourse. The group underlines the link between housing and core societal issues such as health, education, safety, individual success and the economy.
This new funding recipients includes projects in Casa Grande, Cottonwood, Flagstaff, Glendale, Mesa, Phoenix, Prescott Valley, and Surprise, which will split the funding allotment.
Since 2020, the Home Matters Fund has provided $8.581 million in 22 grants including this new announcement.
