What’s in Arizona’s state budget? Money for families, education, housing, water and more

The state budget that’s on the verge of winning approval from the Legislature has something, seemingly, for everyone — pieces that reflect the give and take of crafting a budget that a Democratic governor and Republican legislative leaders can agree on.

These include tax rebates, more money for schools and funding for affordable housing. And then there are road projects — miles and miles of road projects, totaling 50 in all.

There even are some new disclosure requirements for the controversial universal school voucher program, meant to appease Democratic lawmakers who object to the program and its cost. But they will do little to address an underlying concern that the rapidly growing program will break the state budget in coming years.

Here are some of the key items in the budget plan and who will benefit most from it:
