ELOY — Effective Saturday, July 1, the Eloy City Council will have a new face on the dais. After Councilmember Georges Reuter announced plans to resign, the council appointed Andrew Sutton to fill the seat.
Reuter announced earlier this spring that he would be resigning from the council, as he starts to transition his business to Florida.
After Reuter’s announcement, city staff began compiling and accepting applications from those interested in serving on the council.
In total, three candidates were considered for the job and interviewed in a closed-door session last week: former Eloy Councilmember Augustine Sauceda, Flight Operations Director at Skydive Arizona Frank Frassetto Jr. and Sutton, a retired senior municipal manager from New York City.
