Home sales and construction in Coolidge have seen a sharp decline this year.
Coolidge Development Services Director Gilbert Lopez said that while building permits are way down, there are still people building, just at a slower scale.
In the first six months of 2023, 51 permits were issued for single-family units, which is nearly 14% of what it was for the first six months of 2022, when 373 were issued.
Eleven park model permits were also issued in 2022 to zero this year.
He said the drop of permits from 2022 is not too surprising, as 2022 was the peak, with 690 single-family homes.
