Regional park on the horizon for Coolidge

By Michael Maresh | Pinal Central

For what would be Coolidge’s biggest park, the city is initiating discussions with its on-call design firm, Logan Simpson Design of Tempe, to prepare a regional park master plan.

The park would be about 70 acres on city property between the Central Arizona Valley Institute of Technology school on Coolidge Avenue and Skousen Road.

The idea of the regional park at this location has been discussed for several months.

The park amenities being discussed include a splash pad for kids, a destination playground, basketball courts, a dog park, pickleball courts, walking/jogging trails, sand volleyball courts, sports fields, lighting and shade ramadas.

City Manager Rick Miller said the idea is to develop a master plan and develop it in phases over time as the budget allows.
