DECA Ranch recently assumed ownership of South Buckeye Equestrian and Events Center, which will be renamed Buckeye Equestrian and Events Center.
DECA Ranch is owned by the Duncan Family, who have been in the trucking business for 80 years with Duncan and Son Lines Inc., which is headquartered in Buckeye. This change in leadership looks to bring a quick turnaround to upgrades at the facility, as well as helping the center become “the spot” for events in the West Valley.
“We had a great relationship with the previous owner — we were here for 17 years and managed it,” said Don Nahrgang, general manager of the Buckeye Equestrian and Events Center. “When it changed hands, we were asked to come on board with the Duncan’s with visions that we’ve had for the last 10 or 12 years that we wanted to do, and now we’ve been able to implement these visions.
“They’ve come in with a great attitude, and they want to make it a jewel. It’s been great for us because it’s always things that we’ve wanted to do.”
The Buckeye Equestrian and Events Center has been a staple for Western-style events for a number of years. It has played host to Professional Bull Riding events, motorcycle races, circuses and vending shows. Nahrang said DECA Ranch has a vision to improve the grounds to better house events such as those, along with others.
