The downtown Scottsdale infill incentive district is gone, but there are still incentives in place to encourage developers to build in the area.
The Scottsdale City Council voted unanimously during its Sept. 5 meeting to repeal the downtown infill incentive district because the General Plan 2035 offers the same services.
The plan, approved by council in 2010, offered incentives such as amended development standards on things like height and density of projects as well as development fee waivers and expedited plan reviews. The idea was to attract high-quality redevelopment in the area that generally runs between North 68th Street and North Miller Road, and between East Earll Drive and East Chaparral Road.
