What San Tan Valley residents need to know about the North-South Corridor Project

Plans are in motion for the North-South Corridor Project, which aims to span roughly 50 miles connecting US60 in Apache Junction to I-10 in Eloy. The first segment, stretching 20 miles from US 60 to Arizona Farms Road, was the topic of a virtual meeting held last night, revealing pivotal details and insight.Here’s what was unveiled:

  • Land Ownership: A significant portion of the land between Skyline Road and Baseline Road is currently vacant and owned by the Arizona State Trust Land Department. This might streamline certain aspects of construction, as fewer private property negotiations would be needed.
  • Road Extensions: Talks surfaced regarding the potential extensions of several local roads to connect directly to the North-South Corridor. These roads include Ocotillo, Combs, Skyline, and Bella Vista. Such extensions could vastly improve local access to the new corridor.
