Mayor Jon Thompson highlighted various projects and accomplishments occurring around the city this year and in the future.
At “Breakfast with the Mayor” on Oct. 26, he highlighted that Coolidge now has a 24/7 fire department with calls up from 1,768 in October 2022 to 2,360 this October, representing a 33% increase.
Before 24/7 service, the department averaged 164.5 calls per month compared to 266 since.
The department now has an average response time of 5:12 compared to 6:09 before 24/7 service.
The city’s population is approaching 18,000 at 17,746 compared to July 2022 at 16,711, according to various census data.
