Just under 9 of every 10 Arizonans live in areas with a medical marijuana dispensary, reports AP.
The state Department of Health Services says 47 dispensaries have been inspected and approved to operate and that so far 35 of those are open and operating.
According to DHS, an additional 17 inspections are scheduled over the next few weeks.
A map posted by the department on its web site indicates that communities where dispensaries are for now not operating include Nogales, Yuma, Lake Havasu City, Payson, Holbrook, Globe, Safford and Window Rock.
Cities within 25 miles of an operating dispensary include Phoenix, Tucson, Prescott, Sierra Vista, Kingman, Flagstaff, Casa Grande and Sedona.
