A traffic study to determine where a new parking structure should go in Scottsdale’s Old Town has been suspended.
The price of the study right now would be “well in excess of several hundred thousand dollars,” the cost of four or five parking spots, so the city is putting things on hold until the it is closer to building the project, City Manager Jim Thompson told the city council during its Feb. 7 meeting.
The thinking is the price of the study will go down over time, just as the price of lumber did for other bond projects like new horse barns at WestWorld of Scottsdale.
