Maricopa supervisors approve Aguila equestrian facility

On Feb. 28, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved a 10-year Special Use Permit (SUP) for a new equestrian facility with an RV park called Gamblers Row in the 403 zoning district of Aguila.

The facility, consisting of 75 acres of property, “would consist of two 34,000 square foot outdoor arenas, one 34,000 indoor arena, cattle holding pens, cattle sorting pens, public parking, areas for retail and concession vendors, and public restrooms,” according to the Report to the Board of Supervisors. “The applicant is proposing on having events seasonally during the months of October through March during daylight hours.” The report continued that the proposed site would also have two RV parks (140 spaces) and three comfort stations that would be open year round. Seasonal residents would also be able to board their horses at the facility.
