The Goodyear City Council recently heard the results of a feasibility study — prepared by J2 Engineering and Environmental Design — of building a sports complex on flood basins located just north of the I-10 between Bullard Avenue and Dysart Road.
“As we start to create a future vision for the basins, it is critical to understand not only the opportunities but also the constraints associated with this very complex site,” said Nathan Torres, director of parks and recreation for Goodyear.
The city obtained the 129-acre site from the county in 2016 under the provisions that the city maintain its flood control function and use the property for recreational purposes.
