[EDITORIAL] Peace pact good news for Paradise Valley and resort

It was easy to miss, amid coverage of much more important news that also broke about two weeks ago, that a certain long-abandoned resort in Paradise Valley took another major step forward in its ongoing rejuvenation.

In securing a private agreement with the Mountain Shadows West Homeowners Association’s board of directors, the developers hoping to resuscitate the adjacent resort attained their most significant victory since the unanimous endorsement of the Paradise Valley Town Council in April.

Any excitement over the council’s support was quickly snuffed by vague and numerous legal threats of dubious validity from the two homeowners associations bordering the 68-acre Mountain Shadows property, both remarkably stubborn in their efforts to barricade progress.
