City officials are moving forward with the revitalization of downtown Peoria beginning with the groundbreaking of Caldwell County BBQ and Jefferson House.
With that will come updated sign code standards and a rezone of the area.
While the city does not have an exact date as to when construction will begin, Deputy City Manager Mike Faust said a pre-application meeting recently occurred and a schematic design is complete. Site plan and construction documents are also moving forward, he said.
“An official schedule is in the works and we should have a robust project plan ready for public consumption later this month,” Faust said.
City Council approved economic and lease agreements for Caldwell County BBQ and Jefferson House in April.
