New data center planned in Mesa

CITY OF MESA

By YourValley

A nearly 1.5 million-square-foot data center being built by a Dallas-based company is to be constructed on 66 acres north of Elliot Road and east of Crismon Road in Mesa.

The Mesa Design Review Board on July 9 discussed the look and landscaping for the CyrusOne Data Center.

The site plan shows there will be five 290,023-square-foot buildings and one substation near a housing subdivision.

“The applicant has worked to make sure the north elevations for two buildings that are adjacent to that north property line are enhanced because of the visibility from the single-residence subdivision,” Staff Planner Cassidy Welch said at the meeting. “They are required to provide 1,615 spaces; however, as part of a parking reduction, they are proposing 281 spaces.”
