Former Arizona House Representative Marcelino Quiñonez visited Rose Law Group’s office in Scottsdale Thursday to share his vision for Phoenix City Council.
Quiñonez stepped down from the state legislature this April and shortly after announced his candidacy for Phoenix City Council District 7. On X he said, “I will use my roots in the district as an educator, nonprofit leader, & elected official to ensure our communities are safe & thriving.”
While reflecting on his time in the House he said, “I am proud of many things, but especially the work I did to pass two bipartisan budgets that allocated more money to our public schools, the Arizona Housing Trust Fund and the arts.”
Quiñonez grew up in South Phoenix, after immigrating with his family in the 80’s, and was educated in the Roosevelt Elementary School District, becoming the first person in his family to earn a college degree.
Priorities listed by his campaign expand on community and public safety, job creation and economic development, housing, and constituent services.
