New medical campus breaks ground in CG

CASA GRANDE — Construction of a new four-story medical campus for Sun Life Health was acknowledged officially with a groundbreaking ceremony held on Tuesday.

The medical center is to be built on 10 acres and will consolidate the nonprofit’s medical services and provide more space, with completion expected in 2026.

Dignitaries in attendance included Charlene Fernandez, state director of the USDA Office of Rural Health, state Rep. Teresa Martinez, R-Casa Grande, Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland and City Councilmembers Donna McBride and Matt Herman.

Sun Life Health CEO Dr. Eddie Estrada told attendees that the new medical facility would be “state of the art” and that he is excited that the building’s expected completion date would coincide with the 50th anniversary of Sun Life Health.
