Staunch advocate of state water issues to receive award

CASA GRANDE — A staunch advocate for local water issues will receive a 2024 Women Achievers of Arizona award from Arizona Capitol Times.

Terri Sue Rossi, vice president of water resources for Arizona Water Company, will receive her award at a function planned at the Phoenix Airport Marriott on Tuesday.

Rossi told PinalCentral the award was unexpected and thought at first it was a prank call but was quickly made to realize it wasn’t.

“I found out that a good friend of mine is also one of the women being honored and her name is Vineetha Kartha, who works for the Central Arizona Project,” she said. “Vineetha and I worked at the Department of Water Resources and so I was excited that she was on the list too. For me it’s very hard to be in that space — I don’t really like the attention.”

Upon hearing the news of the pending award to Rossi, President of Arizona Water Company Fred Schneider was glowing in his praise of her.

“She has built an impressive legacy and Arizona Water Company is so proud of her accomplishments,” he said.
