CASA GRANDE — The city’s Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday will consider a major site plan for Horizon Homesteads, a 278-unit multifamily development situated on 25 acres at 1355 E. Earley Road that is part of the recently annexed Roping Ridge area at the southwest corner of Earley and Peart roads.
Scottsdale firm Dominium is requesting that the commission approve its major site plan for Medium Density Residential. The gated development would be single-story single-family and two-story two-family structures with fenced backyards and a combination of three- and four-bedroom units. The maximum height of the homes is 27 feet and will also incorporate a central clubhouse.
Pending ratification at Monday’s City Council meeting, the commission will welcome a new member, Cortez Smith, to replace Anthony Estrada, who has served his maximum eight years. Fellow Commissioner Chris Corfield-Hubbard is also up for reappointment to the commission.
The commission will also be asked to forward a recommendation to the council regarding proposed zoning code text amendments.
