One of the ways that Chandler tries to maximize resident’s tax dollars is to look for partnerships on expensive projects.
The city opened one such project on Nov. 20. the Reclaimed Water Interconnect Facility (RWIF) cost about $44.6 million to design and build, but the city only paid half of that. Intel paid the other half.
The tech giant gets a source of reclaimed water to use in cooling the two new fabs it is opening up on its Ocotillo campus to manufacture semiconductor chips. This facility will take care of that need.
