South Korean electric battery manufacturer LG Energy Solution is expected to begin hiring and training employees for its Queen Creek facility in 2025.
At its Dec. 4 meeting, the Queen Creek Town Council received an update on LGES’s progress from Economic Development Director Doreen Cott that included the latest information on construction, hiring and town infrastructure planning for the site.
“We’ve been working very closely with the LGES (human resources) team on their hiring and training,” Cott told the council. “Construction on the Central Arizona College began in May and they will be ready for LGES to begin training in 2025. (LGES) will be recruiting employees in all areas.”
The 19,850-square-foot Pinal County Accelerator is part of the state’s $30 million Future48 Workforce Accelerator project and is part of a $42 million expansion at Central Arizona College’s Superstition campus in Apache Junction. Overall construction on the expansion began in September 2023, with Gov. Katie Hobbs announcing the training facility project in April.
