“Eloy is poised for some really exciting things to happen in terms of growth an economic development in 2025. I am so excited to watch these great leaders do great things,” says Jordan Rose, president and founder of Rose Law Group, who handles zoning cases in Eloy and has for 25 years.

ELOY — 2024 was a landmark year for the city of Eloy. Not only did the community take time to celebrate its history through some 75th-anniversary events, but it also looked toward the future with new businesses and the groundbreaking for a hospital in the last calendar year.
However, with the events of 2024 over, a new chapter will be written for the city, and city staff are expecting to cross more milestones in 2025.
At the forefront of 2025 is new leadership, with Mayor Andrew Sutton taking the gavel from former Mayor Micah Powell. Along with Sutton, the new faces of Michael Vodrazka and JoAnne Galindo have taken their seats on the City Council, offering new insight and ideas to move Eloy forward.
City Manager David Malewitz has been busy ever since taking the position in April 2022. With a continued vision for the future, Malewitz spoke about the conversations he’s had with the new mayor and councilmembers, expecting to continue to build strong working relationships with the newly elected officials.
“In the meetings I’ve had with them, it was important for me to understand where their minds are at. They are both two different personalities, so it was crucial for me to see what their vision for Eloy is,” Malewitz said.
