Richmond American Seasons at Verrado
By Wall Street Journal
The master-planned community of Verrado, nestled at the base of the White Tank Mountains in the Arizona city of Buckeye, currently has 7,500 homes, 8,800 acres, sweeping mountain views, shopping, dog parks, schools, golf courses and a whole lot of neighborly spirit.
New residents are welcomed with freshly baked apple pies that are hand-delivered by neighborhood leaders who also organize things like movie nights, potlucks and scavenger hunts.
There are roughly 17,500 residents across 86 neighborhoods and over 75 community clubs and groups, like Hydro Hotties, a water-aerobics club, and Doodle Club, a monthly meetup for doodle dogs and their owners. A full-time “engagement team” plans events throughout the year including a Christmas tree lighting in December and a weekend-long celebration in March to commemorate the community’s founding over 20 years ago.
