Chandler is expected to formulate plans for its search for a city attorney at the next City Council meeting, Aug. 15.
The council voted July 11 to not continue negotiations with City Attorney Mary Wade. Her last day was July 12.
“They have been in discussion and not been able to come up with a proposed agreement that both attorneys could jointly recommend to the council,” Mayor Jay Tibshraeny said before the vote.
Assistant City Attorney Kay Bigelow is unofficially filling in as city attorney until a formal interim is established by the council, city spokeswoman Nachie Marquez said.
