New Surprise map details city development projects

The city of Surprise has launched a new interactive development project site posting map that provides the public with online access to information that is traditionally posted to onsite development project notification signs, including public meetings related to the project.

The new map includes public and private development projects that have upcoming neighborhood meetings, Planning & Zoning Commission meetings and City Council meetings — all of which engage resident feedback.

Traditionally, the project information has been available on large wooden signs on the development site and the meeting dates have been posted on the city’s website calendar. In an effort to increase transparency and community engagement, the Surprise City Council asked city staff to find a way to make these postings more accessible to residents.
