New CG firehouse up and running

By Jodie Newell | Pinal Central

After years of planning, navigating supply chain issues and increased construction material costs, the new Casa Grande Fire Station 503, worth $12 million, opened on Thursday morning at Rodeo Road and Pinal Avenue.

The grand opening event featured a full ceremonial program that included bagpipers, presentation of colors by the Casa Grande Fire Department color guard, a hose uncoupling, a dedication and blessing of the station and a traditional push-in ceremony of Engine 503.

The new 14,000-square-foot facility replaces a station in a portable building at Casa Grande Municipal Airport that was closed during 2020. After that, firefighters were housed at other stations in the city.
