Chandler faces 2 lawsuits from police officers over pay

Two lawsuits representing dozens of Chandler police officers and sergeants claim that the city did not pay them what they were owed regarding a one-time “reverse fiscal-crisis payment” that the city and employee groups agreed to in 2011.

Five members of the Chandler Law Enforcement Association filed a class-action suit on behalf of other officers on July 8 claiming a violation of the Arizona Wage Act and breach of contract.

A similar claim was filed in February by 44 sergeants in the Chandler Police Department.
