Construction starts on affordable housing project in Sedona

Sedona is getting an affordable housing community after a construction management firm announced Friday the groundbreaking of The Villas on Shelby.

On 1.2 acres owned by the city of Sedona, Westpac Residential Inc. is constructing a three-story apartment complex. There will be 24 one-bedroom units and six three-bedroom units.

Amenities will include covered parking, a community room, a fitness area and a playground, according to a press release.
